The pictures are presented in logical and roughly chronological groupings, starting with my earliest watercolours.
I only started painting with any regularity after I retired and attended Hummingbird Studios under the excellent guidance of Bar Spurr.
These are the paintings, in watercolour and ink, produced at that time.

Bar sadly passed away in 2018 and, although the studio reopened as Starling Studios, I now had studio space at home.
Paintings now incorporate elements of dry-point printing, lino-cut and monoprint.
Subject matter was focussed on the local landscape at Cuckmere Valley and inspiration from holidaysnaps.

In 2019 I joined a group of artists in Hastings. We meet regularly throughout the year and explore various themes together.
These sessions continue to provide inspiration and, quite often, will spark a new project to be completed back in the studio.
Work now includes some in oils.

More recently, and in parallel with the painting, I have started to play with graphical art on the iPad.
This is a great tool for trying out variations in composition and an image which started as as an etched plate or a lino-cut, a monoprint or even a watercolour can also take on a life of its own in the digital world.
Some pictures are purely digital and tend to be a bit frivolous.
